With the advent of MainMemory's sadxlvl, making sadx levels is now easier than ever. However, there is a scarcity of people trying this new technology. So I'm holding a level design contest to get people going. Entries will be accepted from now until June 10th, 2010. The rules are as follows:

- Entries are a single level, but entrants can utilize as many of that level's segments as they need to.
- Entrants are not allowed to utilize data outside of the level's normal range. At all. This means you'll have to delete level data if you want to add more. No pointer swaps, but if you want to port an entire object, that is fine.
- Only sonic levels, however an alternate SET file for amy is acceptable as well. Remember that Amy's physics in RDX are very similar to sonic's, except she can't spin attack.
- A scene re-arrangement using SETEdit or 3dsmax and a SET file is a bare minimum entry. PVM and CAM files are a bonus, although if the level is unplayable due to a bad cam file it might lose points. Just using the chao garden cam is ok, but discouraged.
- This is STRICTLY a level contest. If your submitted sonic.exe requires modified chrmodels, pvms, etc. it may be disqualified. In fact, you should start with a clean sonic.exe. You obviously can include your level's textures, but nothing else will be accepted.

Entries MUST be one of the following level slots:
Windy Valley
Casinopolis
Twinkle Park
Sky Deck
Lost World
Hot Shelter

Egg Carrier

Since everyone is going to ignore this rule, be reminded that breaking it disqualifies you from getting your level in rdx. You'll get something else as a first place prize

PRIZES:
1st place:
The first place winner gets their level in Sonic RDX (hopefully in time for the sonic retro hacking contest) with FULL credit in the readme file and on the website. You'll also get a banner saying you participated and won. If the entrant enteres the retro hacking contest as well and wins 1st place in this contest, I'll wait until after the retro contest ends to add their level to rdx

2nd place:
The second place winner gets me to produce any SADX related hack material for THEIR project, up to 1 complete level (pvm, cam, set, scene) and a banner proving they won.

to enter, rar or zip your level files and sonic.exe, and email/pm/aim them to me at:
dude##.dudeness##@##gmail##.com (no hash marks)
aim: omgwtfsonic

If you need upload space, contact me and I'll let you use x-hax guestupload.

Also, this contest was created to give people extra incentive to enter into the sonic retro hacking contest 2010, which is having it's first year of a seperate 3d category this year. Entries for this contest are cross-compatible with ayla's contest, so double your chances of winning by entering both!

Well, this sounds promising. Good news after touching SADX again after almost 2 months.

Did you port all of that, or did you use pointer swaps?

Geometry loader pointer swap, of course! I wish I knew how to import meshes.

Nope, sorry. To be eligible the entry cannot use data outside of the original level's area. I've made significant changes to RDX's emerald coast and if your level uses emerald coast data there will be a problem.

Are custom models allowed? Not at the end of sonic.exe, in extended space, just in the space of windy valley or whatever stage you want to edit.

yes, this is perfectly allowed. In fact expanded exe's aren't disallowed either they're just more of a pain but they're both allowed.

Precisely. However, I achieved my goal of getting people to make hacks for the retro contest, so all is well. Topic locked.
